Senior Engineer Purchase (Automation Products & Project Procurement)

You are an experienced Senior Purchase Engineer responsible for managing procurement activities related to automation products, control panels, and project materials. Your role involves ensuring alignment of procurement with project timelines while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery performance. Your key responsibilities include planning and executing procurement for a wide range of automation components such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA hardware/software, VFDs, Servo drives, sensors, actuators, control panels, electrical switchgear, and mechanical components. It is essential to understand technical requirements from design, project, and production teams to facilitate accurate and timely procurement. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing reliable vendors for automation products and fabricated items. Additionally, preparing purchase orders, reviewing quotations, conducting cost comparisons, coordinating with the quality team for vendor audits, and ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and statutory regulations are crucial aspects of your role. Monitoring inventory levels, maintaining purchase records, contracts, and documentation in ERP systems, and following up with vendors for on-time delivery and proactive resolution of supply chain issues are also part of your responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should have at least 7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in automation, industrial machinery, or project-based industries. Your technical skills should include a strong knowledge of automation products from manufacturers like Schneider, Rockwell, Siemens, etc. You should also have an understanding of control panel components, electrical switchgear, and industrial instruments, along with familiarity with ERP systems for purchase management. An educational background in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering at the Diploma/Degree level is required. Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work under tight project deadlines, are essential for success in this role.
