Role Description

Violin Technologies is seeking a Senior Engineer – NPD Design Engineering for a full-time, on-site role located in Chengalpattu. The role involves managing new product development (NPD) projects, including planning, designing, and analyzing mechanical components and systems. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with international quality standards, preparing engineering documentation, and conducting product testing and validation. The Senior Engineer will also be instrumental in liaising with clients, addressing engineering challenges, and implementing innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in mechanical design engineering, 3D modeling, and CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools
• Strong analytical skills for design validation, prototyping, and defining technical specifications
• Experience in new product development, design for manufacturing (DFM), and understanding of manufacturing processes like CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and PCB assembly
• Knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100D, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001:2015
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus
• Experience in an EMS or manufacturing environment is preferred
