Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to lead the fabrication drawings team forheavy steel structures. The role involves managing detailing activities, ensuring drawingaccuracy, optimizing material usage, and coordinating with production and project teams.

Key Requirements

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical
• Minimum 5 years experience in steel detailing & fabrication drawings
• Good Knowledge in MS Office, AutoCAD, Primevera P6, SAP, Nesting.
• Hands-on exposure to fabrication workshop practices.
• knowledge of steel fabrication standards, codes, and industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain detailed production plans, schedules, and material requirementsbased on customer orders and forecasts.
• Monitor and update MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and ERP systems to
• ensure data accuracy and timely availability of materials.
• Maintain drawing records systematically (both manual & digital formats).
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards related to
• fabrication.
• Technical guidance to junior engineers and fabrication staff.
• Liaise with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of components.
• Coordinate with procurement for sourcing of raw materials and bought-out items.
• Review and approve fabrication drawings, welding documentation, and inspection testplans (ITPs).
• Drive continuous improvement in fabrication processes to enhance productivity and reducecost.
• Collaborate with design, production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure alignmentof planning with manufacturing capabilities and timelines.
• Optimize capacity planning and resource allocation to minimize bottlenecks andimprove overall efficiency.
• Review and analyze production data to identify delays, inefficiencies, or deviations fromthe plan, and take corrective actions.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production adherence, lead times, andinventory turnover.
• Participate in new product introductions (NPI) and ensure planning aligns with launchschedules.
• Implement best practices in planning such as Lean, JIT, and demand-driven MRPtechniques.
• Prepare regular planning reports and presentations for senior management.
