Role Overview: As a member of the Direct Material Productivity (DMP) team, your primary responsibility will be to generate and lead VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) cost-out projects related to various commodities such as Stamping, Fabrication, Sheet steel, Casting, Forging, etc. You will collaborate closely with the Global Procurement Organization and Product divisions to identify cost-out opportunities. Your goal will be to identify, develop, and maintain services that deliver significant VAVE cost-out opportunities and create a robust pipeline of executable projects. You should have the capability to analyze commodity spend data, leverage data analytics, and ideation principles to create new project opportunities. Additionally, you will need an in-depth knowledge of electrical components design and application, including duty cycle attributes, and the ability to develop design guidelines and test protocols for these components. Key Responsibilities: - Execute enterprise-wide strategic projects for various commodities like Stamping, Fabrication, Sheet steel, Casting, Forging in collaboration with Global Procurement Leaders - Implement strategic and operational plans for VAVE, Resourcing, Negotiation, and Part Rationalization to achieve measurable cost-out goals - Generate technically and commercially viable ideas to reduce overall product costs and enhance competitiveness - Drive productivity through supplier consolidations, key data improvements, and avoidance of part proliferation - Identify and develop knowledge nuggets for data analysis that can be utilized in other projects - Engage in supplier discussions to derive new ideas and solutions for cost-out initiatives - Utilize DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) methodology to identify technical risks early in product development and ensure products meet customer requirements - Contribute to patent/disclosures while working on New Product Development, VAVE, and problem-solving projects Qualifications: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering - Experience in a technical engineering organization, preferably in the Electrical industry - Minimum of 7 years of experience in a multinational engineering organization Additional Details (if present): Omit this section as no additional details about the company are provided in the job description.
