Senior Engineer - Maintenance-Igsspl-Chennai

Job Purpose:

Shift Incharge for Mechanical Maintenance

Responsibility:

• Ensure quick and efficient maintenance of the manufacturing equipment in the plant during the shift, and aim to reduce MTTR and MTBF
• Perform checks of all machinery (electrical and mechanical), tools, equipment etc. on a consistent basis to identify and resolve issues and ensure all machinery is up to working standards
• Identify and rectify all problems in the areas of mechanical and electrical, ensuring that the least breakdown time is taken
• Keep accurate logs of maintenance activities and ensure communication of all the relevant information on breakdowns to the superiors
• Efficiently coordinate with the Head of Maintenance as well as Production to schedule maintenance activities including predictive, preventative maintenance
• Perform preventive checks of all machinery (electrical and mechanical), tools, equipment etc. on a consistent basis
• Ensure supply and distribution of all utilities (e.g. electricity, water, fuel, air) as per requirements of the operations team as well as general utilities like waste water management, effluent treatment, etc.
• Implement energy saving, fuel saving, Poka Yoke, Kaizen, 5S, KANBAN, automation, productivity improvement, machine upgrade projects as per schedule
• Work with the preventive and breakdown maintenance staff to identify areas for cost saving and execute techniques / measures and modifications to achieve substantial reduction in expenditures and adhere to budgets and control expenses

KRA:

• Achievement of breakdown maintenance targets
• Identifying critical spare parts and stocking up the same
• 100% compliance to all SOPs and processes defined as per IGSSPL policies
• Adherence to schedule & achievement of preventive maintenance targets
• Availability of utility services
