Job Description

As a cornerstone of our strategy to establish an independent Mechanical Design (MDE) department, you will take full technical ownership from concept through release of high performance gearbox solutions. Join us on this ambitious journey and help build a scalable, self sustaining organization that shapes the future of local gearbox development.

What awaits you

Pioneering Impact: Play a central role in setting up a dedicated Design team in India, empowering local engineers to lead independent gearbox development projects.
Full Spectrum Responsibility: Own the end to end design process requirements, 3D CAD, D FMEA, design reviews, drawing release, production hand off and prototype testing.
Global Collaboration: Work hand in hand with German headquarters, cross functional teams, suppliers and customers, ensuring highest quality and compliance with international standards.
Continuous Growth: Benefit from structured training programs combining onsite workshops in Germany and remote learning, plus on the job mentoring by seasoned gearbox experts.

What will you do in this role

Take ownership of design deliverables for single parts and subassemblies, ensuring time , function , and quality optimized solutions aligned with customer specs and internal standards.
Develop and release detailed 3D models, part drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials managing the full release process.
Lead and execute D FMEAs, participate in design reviews (including supplier workshops), and drive corrective actions via 8D reports as needed.
Evaluate test results, derive technical measures and feed lessons learned into updated design standards.
Identify technical challenges, propose robust solutions and implement improvements
Provide technical guidance and support to team members and new colleagues, fostering a collaborative, high performance culture.

What do we want you to bring to this role

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Transmission Technology or equivalent; proven track record as a gearbox designer (ideally in the wind energy sector).
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred)
Hands on mentality street smart and solution oriented, with a passion for methodical problem solving and continuous self development.
Excellent communication skills in English and comfortable in leading technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to foster a collaborative team environment and willingness to share knowledge and best practices to build local expertise.
