Job Description

Role Overview: You will be responsible for performing installation, testing, and commissioning of power and control systems onboard marine vessels and offshore platforms. Your role will involve executing power and control cable termination, glanding, dressing, and proper routing in accordance with marine electrical standards. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems, switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), and distribution panels. Additionally, you will support the installation of marine electrical equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations and marine electrical codes. Collaboration with engineers, supervisors, and technicians is essential to ensure timely project completion. Proper documentation of work progress, test reports, and drawings will be part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of power and control systems onboard marine vessels and offshore platforms. - Execute power and control cable termination, glanding, dressing, and proper routing according to marine electrical standards. - Read, interpret, and work from control and power drawings, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics. - Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems, switchboards, MCCs, and distribution panels. - Conduct insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, and functional testing of cables and equipment. - Support installation of marine electrical equipment such as transformers, motors, generators, and control panels. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations, class society requirements, and marine electrical codes. - Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and technicians for timely project completion. - Maintain proper documentation of work progress, test reports, and as-built drawings. Qualifications: - Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. - Minimum 10-15 years experience as an Electrical Technician in the marine / shipbuilding / offshore field.
