Job Description

Role Overview: As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at KOKO Networks, you will play a crucial role in leading the mechanical design and development of new hardware products from concept to production. Your primary responsibilities will include creating 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks, building and testing prototypes, and facilitating manufacturing transitions. Collaboration with QA, Manufacturing, Electronics, and Sourcing teams will be essential to ensure optimal product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the end-to-end mechanical design and development of KOKO's next-generation consumer hardware, addressing critical challenges in efficiency, durability, and cost. - Conceptualize, design, and iterate on prototypes, utilizing expertise in materials and manufacturing processes to develop practical solutions that drive innovation. - Conduct detailed engineering calculations and advanced computer simulations (e.g., CFD and FEA) to validate and optimize designs to meet rigorous performance standards. - Act as a technical lead, guiding products from concept to mass production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to manufacturing. - Drive continuous improvement and innovation by researching new technologies and conducting tests to refine and perfect consumer hardware designs. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor of Engineering / Master of Engineering in Mechanical or Mechatronics. - 5+ years of hands-on experience in design engineering of mechanical products, demonstrating a strong track record of developing hardware product designs through to production. - Proficiency in materials, particularly steel sheet metal and plastics, with a deep understanding of mass and batch manufacturing processes. - Knowledge of National & International standards/guidelines for various mechanical products. - Experience in prototyping processes for both metals and plastics. - Ability to conceptualize and detail ideas using 3D CAD tools (e.g., Solidworks) and 2D sketches. - Strong skills in designing for testability, reliability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness. - Experience in collaborating within cross-functional teams, especially with researchers and electronics engineers. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
