The Senior Database Administrator exercises judgment when following general instructions and is responsible for working independently to support database operations, focusing on resolving routine and semi-routine database issues of limited to moderate complexity. This role involves learning multiple database technologies while supporting mission-critical applications.As a Senior Database Engineer on the Marketing Technology team, you will help deploy and maintain scalable combinations of people, process, and technology that ensure best practices in campaign planning / execution, lead generation, segmentation, and data management. You will be expected to stay abreast of industry and technology trends, write detailed technical documentation, troubleshoot issues, and continuously enhance our marketing infrastructure. You will be working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects at once, which involve stakeholders from across the company. This role will augment our investment in a centralized Customer Data Platform (CDP). The team will focus on realizing value from disparate data sets and partnering to identify trends in contact activity in order to build valuable customer experiences . Collaboration with internal business stakeholders to enable data-driven decisions for managing the end to end web visitor and customer life cycle will be paramount. Proficient skill sets in data analysis, data mining and development concepts for fairly large and disparate data sources and has experience supporting critical platforms within the Adobe Experience Platform. What will you do:
Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and security updates
Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks
Assist in executing database upgrades and patching procedures.
Respond to database-related support requests, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner
Implement and maintain database security policies, ensuring compliance with organizational standards
Work with development teams to optimize queries and database structures
What will you bring:
Deploy pipelines and infrastructure in both proof of concept (POC) and production form to support the CDP initiatives
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support combinations of platforms and infrastructure across the organization
Work with analysts and their data sets in SQL, Python, R to optimize and troubleshoot ways to ingest into our CDP
Develop data pipelines from disparate data source to support both the analysis and activation of contact acquisition, engagement, and retention programs via our CDP
Develop data sets across data lakes like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Red Shift
Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to build nimble audience segments data requirements gathering and support questions for audience segmentation
Maintain knowledge of data elements and Adobe Experience Platform in the maintenance and definition of segment, event and attribute rule sets
Coordinate with the Marketing Technology & Operations team members on development tasks
Collaborate across the Red Hat System of Sites to enable digital activation throughout the customer lifecycle
Consult with business owners on establishing and improving KPIs within the Customer Experience
5+ years of work experience and BA/BS/Masters in related field
Adobe certified professional (preferred) with experience administering or implementing Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions (including Analytics, Target, Experience Platform, CDP, etc.)
Experience creating & deploying data pipelines across vast data repositories, web properties, silos and being able to use & learn Adobe Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform, APIs, etc. to surface reliable data for analysis
Extensive background both educating stakeholders and developing reports or dashboards to support the needs of the organization across multiple initiatives & programs
Strong analytical skills and experience with advanced reporting and other data analysis tools and/or code sets (e.g., Qlik, Tableau, R, Python) is a plus
Great problem solver, ability to learn independently, and work in an ambiguous environment
Ability to manage multiple global projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment
General understanding of data transformation, ingestion, transfer, mining & augmentation
