Senior Data Integration & Backend Engineer

Backend Architecture & Platform Services

Design and implement secure, scalable public and internalAPIs (FastAPI + async patterns)

Buildidentity-aware, role-based services supporting clinicians, administrators, andintegrations

Ensure high reliability and low-latency request handlingwith proper caching, pagination, and rate limits

Apply distributed systems patterns: retries, idempotencykeys, circuit breakers, backpressure Contribute to domain modeling (DDDprinciples) for provider identity, specialties, compliance state

Define SLOs,operational runbooks, and automate recovery where possible

Data Ingestion, Structuring & Quality Governance

Engineer API-first ingestion, migration andsynchronization pipelines (scraping only when legally permitted)

Normalize structured & semi-structured healthcare data(qualifications, medical specialties, licensing authorities)

Maintain deduplication, delta-detection andsource-of-truth governance

Define and trackKPIs for freshness, accuracy, coverage, cost-per-item

Search, Semantic Intelligence & Matching

Build and optimize Azure OpenAI + pgvector similarity andreputation ranking models

Extend taxonomy-and embeddings-aware search for better clinician-patient matching

Develop metadata inference to improve discoverability andquality

Secure Healthcare Integrations

Partner with health insurers, job authorities, andtelemedicine systems using standards-driven, consent-aware integration patterns

Apply GDPR principles, auditability, encryption &secret management by default

Event & Batch Processing + Observability

Event-drivenautomation: Azure Functions / Container Apps / AKS jobs

Full Observability using OpenTelemetry (traces, metrics,logs)

DLQ handling,replay, and resiliency testing

Cross-FunctionalProduct Enablement

Collaborate withProduct, Platform, Data Science & Compliance stakeholders

Enable exports, access control, onboarding flows andclinical validation processes

Desired Candidate Profile

5+ years Backend + Data Engineering experience in productionsystems (regulatory environments advantageous)

Python (FastAPI, pydantic, async stack, httpx/requests)

TypeScript for integration services, SDKs, and adminautomation

Azure production experience:

Functions, Container Apps, AKS workloads

Azure PostgreSQL / SQL, Blob Storage, Key Vault

Monitor / Log Analytics

PostgreSQL excellence incl. pgvector indexing &performance tuning

ETL/ELT engineering, test automation (pytest),CI/CD, Observability

Strong understanding of data privacy, GDPR , andsecure data flows

Additional Skills

Go for high-throughput microservices

NLP / Document processing:

Healthcare interoperability: FHIR / HL7

Developer Experience:
