The Senior Corporate Counsel will play a key role in supporting Salesforces South East Asia and India Sales and Professional Services organizations in structuring commercial transactions and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with a primary focus on the public sector customers and should have management experience to lead a team of 2 to 5. Roles & Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Teamwork: Lead, mentor and guide legal team members while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across the business (revenue recognition, sales operations, and pricing) to support processes for contracting and order processing. Public Sector & Commercial Contracting Expertise: Lead, negotiate, and close government contracts with ministries, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with Indian public procurement laws, GFR, and tendering processes, while also handling commercial transactions in India and South East Asia Contract Execution Under Pressure: Review, negotiate, draft, and drive fast turnaround times on high-value agreements, including, cloud, SaaS agreements, professional services agreements, partner agreements, data processing addenda and AI transactions in support of the South East Asia and India sales, professional services, and alliances teams. Lead & Deliver at Speed: Provide rapid, business-savvy legal advice while effectively managing legal risk and ensuring compliance across public and private sector transactions. Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with sales, privacy, and security teams to ensure smooth and efficient deal execution, and that agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes. Alliances & Partner Transactions: Support negotiations related to reseller, distributor, and system integrator agreements, including ensuring compliance with public sector procurement requirements. Dispute Resolution & Risk Mitigation Advise on contract disputes, bid challenges, and regulatory inquiries, minimizing legal and operational risks. Process Efficiency & Innovation: Identify and implement legal process improvements to support rapid deal closure. Assist in developing training materials and provide training to the business on relevant legal topics and best practices. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Minimum 10 years of legal experience, with strong leadership and managing experience and a proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, and demanding industry. Strong regional working experience with public sector contracting in India, including knowledge of Indian procurement frameworks (GFR, e-Governance policies, CVC guidelines) is required. Demonstrated success in closing high value commercial technology contracts with government entities and private sector enterprises. Experience working with Indian government ministries, PSUs, statutory boards, or public sector entities is required. Experience in commercial contracting across highly regulated sectors, including financial services (FINS) and healthcare is preferred. Exceptional contract negotiation and drafting skills, rigor/attention to detail, and strong legal reasoning, particularly in high-pressure commercial transactions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Team-oriented and collaborative mindset. Proven track record developing and maintaining strong working relationships with demanding internal clients. Familiar with and interested in technical concepts (Web applications, cloud computing, digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence) and the Professional Services associated with their implementation. Highly adaptable and service-oriented attitude. Ability to handle pressure and provide thoughtful recommendations.
