Job
Description
As a Senior Software Developer at our organization, you will collaborate with Business and Quality Analysts, Designers, Project Managers, and other team members to design software solutions that drive meaningful change for our clients. Your role involves listening thoughtfully to understand the context of a business problem and writing clean, iterative code to deliver powerful end results. By consistently advocating for better engineering practices and balancing strong opinions with finding the right solutions, you will bring integrity to technology and ensure all voices are heard. In order for our team to thrive, it requires collaboration and space for healthy, respectful debate. As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for fostering this environment while steering teams towards achieving an aspirational tech vision. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor for junior-level consultants, leveraging your deep technical knowledge to solve complex business problems and proactively assess your team's health, code quality, and nonfunctional requirements. Your responsibilities will include learning and implementing best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming, and design patterns. You will also advocate for continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software and value to end customers efficiently. Working in collaborative, value-driven teams, you will contribute to building innovative customer experiences and create large-scale distributed systems out of microservices. Furthermore, you will collaborate with various team members to build features, design concepts, and interactive prototypes while ensuring best practices and UX specifications are integrated throughout the process. Applying the latest technology trends from our Technology Radar, you will address client problems and make use of DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy software, promoting a DevOps culture and emphasizing security in the development process. Overseeing or participating in the entire cycle of software consulting and delivery, you will act as a mentor for less-experienced peers through your technical knowledge and leadership skills. In terms of qualifications, you should have at least 4+ years of experience, proficiency in Golang and at least one more development language (such as Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, C#, etc.), along with experience in Object-Oriented programming. Comfort with Agile methodologies, TDD, continuous integration, and continuous delivery approaches/tools is essential. Bonus points if you have working knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker. Beyond technical skills, you should enjoy influencing others, advocate for technical excellence, and be open to change when necessary. Active presence in the external tech community through speaking engagements, contributions to open source projects, blogs, and more is also valued. Resilience in ambiguous situations and the ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives are important traits for this role. At Thoughtworks, we prioritize learning and development, offering various career paths supported by interactive tools, development programs, and supportive teammates who are committed to helping you grow. Our culture emphasizes empowerment and collaboration, enabling employees to thrive in their career journeys. Depending on business or client needs, you may be required to work onsite at our Thoughtworks office or our client's location for all five working days of the week. Join Thoughtworks, a global technology consultancy that integrates strategy, design, and engineering to drive digital innovation. Our autonomous teams have been trusted by clients for over 30 years to build solutions that go beyond the obvious. Here, individuals from diverse backgrounds come together to learn, challenge each other, and drive innovation.
