Role & Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and perform complex bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions and reviewing entries for accuracy.
  2. Review and process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring compliance with client policies and timelines.
  3. Perform advanced bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations; resolve discrepancies independently.
  4. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  5. Maintain, review, and analyze general ledger accounts; propose adjusting entries when needed.
  6. Communicate effectively with clients

    , addressing inquiries, advising on bookkeeping best practices, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  7. Support and mentor associate bookkeepers; review their work for accuracy and completeness.
  8. Ensure adherence to SOPs, checklists, internal controls, and workflow processes; recommend improvements for efficiency.
  9. Coordinate with accountants during audits or year-end close processes.
  10. Manage confidential financial data with the highest level of integrity and security.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  1. Masters degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 35 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in a multi-client or outsourced accounting environment.
  3. Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, MYOB) and strong Excel skills.
  4. Deep understanding of accounting principles, general ledger functions, accruals, and financial reporting.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve complex reconciliation issues.
  6. Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
  7. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional judgment.
  8. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to clients and junior staff.
  9. Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information.
  10. Exceptional English-speaking and written communication skills

Preferred Candidate Profile

  1. Experience supervising or reviewing the work of junior bookkeeping staff.
  2. Background in outsourcing, shared services, or multi-client accounting environments.
  3. Professional certification in bookkeeping or accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Xero Certification).
  4. Familiarity with cloud-based accounting ecosystems, workflow automation tools, and integration platforms.
  5. Experience assisting with process improvements or implementing best practices in bookkeeping workflows.
