Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Inpatient (IPD) and Outpatient (OPD) billing:
Prepare, process, and finalize bills for both services, including estimates and interim billing.
Payment collection:
Collect payments from patients and ensure financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Coordination:
Liaise with various hospital departments like wards and the pharmacy to ensure all charges are correctly reflected on the bill.
Patient interaction:
Greet patients, answer billing-related questions, resolve discrepancies, and assist with necessary forms and insurance information.
Record maintenance:
Maintain accurate and organized billing records and prepare billing reports.
Insurance claims:
Process insurance claims and coordinate with insurance companies.
Discharge procedures:
Handle all billing-related procedures during a patient's discharge.

Preferred candidate profile

Skills:
Strong attention to detail, good communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams.
Experience:
Prior experience in medical billing or a similar administrative role in a healthcare setting is often preferred.
