Senior BI Analyst

Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity to join an expanding Business Intelligence Team and contribute towards intelligence-led change and innovation. The BI and data product analyst will contribute to delivering an effective and high-quality Business Intelligence and Reporting service to RWSs external and internal customers. The Business Intelligence Analyst will help the business to leverage the data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential issues. They will be able to gather requirements, manage stakeholders and schedule data projects.

Group Technology enables the organization to achieve its strategic direction whilst driving shareholder value. The division establishes common standards and IT governance across the business. It further develops and manages core applications enabling smooth operational running of the organization across all functions. We drive and deliver future roadmaps aligned to the overall strategic direction of the business. Group Technology support services to over 7500 end users across the globe, manage the information security operation and safeguard all our assets. Our core Group Technology functions include Technical Architecture, Network & Voice, IT Security, Service Delivery, Solutions Delivery and Asset Management. Group Technology has a global presence across all regions with over 400 staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong stakeholder relationships in order to understand business challenges and collaboratively define and document precise business requirements for specific projects.
• Provide leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating information gathering, structured documentation and presentation of findings to all levels of the business.
• Design, develop, and maintain

  Power BI dashboards and reports

  to support business operations, KPIs, and strategic initiatives.
• Write efficient and optimized

  DAX

  and

  SQL

  queries for calculated measures, aggregations, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into scalable BI solutions and data products.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on BI tools, data visualization, and dashboard storytelling best practices.
• Manage and optimize data pipelines and ETL workflows in collaboration with data engineering teams.
• Contribute to data governance efforts, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and security of reporting assets.
• Stay updated on emerging BI technologies, tools, and best practices.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in BI, Data Analytics, or a related role.
• Advanced proficiency in

  Power BI

  (including Power Query, DAX, and data modeling).
• Strong command of

  SQL

  for data extraction, manipulation, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets from multiple sources.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering data products that provide business value.
• Strong business acumen and ability to communicate technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities involving identifying the root cause of problems, assessing risks/impacts and determining and implementing effective solutions.
• Strong presentation skills and an ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences in a clear, simple way, both written and verbally.
• Analytical aptitude and interest in interrogating data to develop hypotheses and insights.
• Mathematics, statistics or economics are preferable.
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation, especially in relation to written work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects to completion.
• Proactive and forward thinking.
• Must work well in a team environment.
• Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team.
