Senior Backend Engineer

As a foundational Backend Engineer at APPHOX Technologies, you will be a critical member of the "Platform Pod," responsible for building the engine room of the entire ERP suite. You will work directly with the Solution Architect to translate a robust technical blueprint into clean, scalable, and high-performance code. Your role involves developing core microservices, building GraphQL APIs, interacting with the database, writing high-quality code, ensuring performance & security, and collaborating & innovating. Your work will be crucial in impacting the platform's performance, security, and ability to scale globally. - Develop Core Microservices: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend services using Node.js (primarily with the NestJS framework). - Build GraphQL APIs: Implement a robust and well-structured GraphQL API layer that will serve the React frontend and future mobile applications. - Database Interaction: Work closely with the Database Engineer to design schemas, write efficient queries, and interact with the PostgreSQL database. - Write High-Quality Code: Produce clean, testable, and well-documented code, adhering to SOLID principles and established design patterns. - Ensure Performance & Security: Implement security best practices (authentication, authorization, data encryption) and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. - Collaborate & Innovate: Actively participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and agile ceremonies to contribute to a culture of technical excellence. Qualifications Required: - 3-5+ years of professional backend development experience. - Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and the Node.js ecosystem. - Hands-on experience with a modern Node.js framework like NestJS or Express.js. - Proven experience building and consuming APIs (GraphQL experience is highly preferred; strong REST experience is also valued). - Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization. - Familiarity with Git and modern collaborative development workflows. - Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building high-quality software.
