Senior Associate - Underwriting

As an Underwriter at Biz2Credit, you will be responsible for full cycle underwriting of proposed financing amounts and terms for small businesses. Working closely with Relationship Managers, you will assess and structure financing that is appealing to small business owners while minimizing risk. Your key responsibilities will include: - Collaborating with Relationship Managers to structure, analyze, and negotiate credit transactions. - Conducting full cycle underwriting of assigned small business financing, analyzing financial statements, tax returns, and other financial information. - Performing detailed financial analysis, including trend and ratio analysis, to evaluate credit quality and cash flow adequacy. - Analyzing credit and financial statements of co-owners, guarantors, and individuals to assess assets coverage for requested loan amounts. - Coordinating with Relationship Managers for customer calls and site visits. - Conducting additional due diligence as necessary to assess the creditworthiness of small business owners. - Being open to working in night shifts. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in finance and accounting or a related field. - Formal credit training is preferred. - Experience in financial institution underwriting for small businesses, with 3+ years in commercial credit analysis or commercial underwriting working with small businesses being a plus. - Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze financial statements, cash flow, industry and competitive analysis, and projections. - Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications, preferably Excel and Word, including the use of graphs/charts and Moody's financial analysis software. - Basic knowledge of credit principles, lending operations, loan research, and due diligence searches such as SOS, Clear report, TLOx Transunion, NYCs, Westlaw/Dockets, Credit bureau reports, and general credit policies. - Team player with initiative, good communication skills for interactions with counterparts in the US, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, multitasking skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills. ,
