Senior Application Developer

**Role Overview:** As an Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst at our global Investment Bank, you will play an integral role in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs. Your main objective will be to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities. You will work closely with business users and the development team to provide high-quality systems that improve productivity, decrease operational risk, and enable business expansion. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop, test, design, manage, and support high-quality systems. - Design and implement all aspects of the system with automation and resilience in mind, such as automated tests, deployment, failover, etc. - Continuously improve and optimize applications and processes to reduce manual intervention, downtimes, and outages. - Build strong relationships with business users to understand their challenges and create systems to help them overcome obstacles. - Maintain a focus on quality and supportability. - Adapt to changes in priorities and requirements. - Stay updated on new technology opportunities. **Qualifications Required:** - 8+ years of commercial software development experience with a JVM based language. - Ability to deliver simple solutions first before iterating. - Proficiency in delivering complex systems in a fast-paced environment. - Sound knowledge of application architecture and design. - Experience in designing applications that can fail over safely and are easy to monitor and support. **Additional Company Details:** This role offers a great opportunity for a strong technologist to be part of a successful development group within the company.
