About TargetBay TargetBay is a fast-growing eCommerce marketing automation SaaS company based out of Chennai and Atlanta. Clients use our products to increase their online sales through our personalized email marketing and reviews technologies. We have over 4,000 eCommerce companies using our product. Were seeking a visionary Senior Architect to drive the architectural strategy, scalability, and performance of our platform. Position Summary As a Senior Application Architect , you will be responsible for shaping the architecture of our SaaS platform to ensure it is robust, scalable, secure, and aligned with our business objectives. You will lead technical decision-making, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor engineering teams while driving innovation across the product lifecycle. Experience : 15+ Years Location: Perungudi, Chennai Key Responsibilities Architectural Ownership : Design and document high-level architecture for scalable, multi-tenant SaaS applications, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements. Technology Strategy : Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to keep the product competitive and modern. Cloud Infrastructure : Architect cloud-native solutions primarily using AWS, Azure, or GCP; ensure high availability, performance, and security. Collaboration : Work closely with product managers, engineering teams, DevOps, and security to translate business needs into technical architecture. Mentorship & Leadership : Provide architectural guidance and technical mentorship to engineering teams; enforce best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and design patterns. Scalability & Performance : Anticipate and address performance bottlenecks, scalability concerns, and system reliability from early design through production. Security by Design : Integrate security best practices into system architecture, including data protection, access control, and compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR). Documentation & Standards : Maintain comprehensive architectural documentation and promote adherence to design and development standards. Required Qualifications 15+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior architecture role in a SaaS environment. Proven experience designing and building cloud-native, scalable, multi-tenant SaaS applications. Deep understanding of microservices, API design (REST/GraphQL), event-driven architecture, and data modeling. Hands-on experience with modern backend stacks (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python, Laravel, ROR..), front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular), and databases (SQL and NoSQL). Expertise in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead technical discussions and influence decision-making at all levels.
