A highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant responsible for managing end-to-end financial operations across Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Month-End Reporting. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely processing of transactions, and delivering insightful financial reports to support strategic decision-making.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

• Maintain the Purchase Ledger and ensure efficient invoice processing.
• Resolve supplier and UK finance team queries promptly.
• Reconcile supplier accounts and bank statements regularly.
• Ensure timely settlement of company liabilities in line with KPIs.
• Support audit queries and generate ad hoc financial reports.

Treasury:

• Upload direct bank transfers and coordinate with site staff.
• Perform weekly bank and income reconciliations across multiple platforms.
• Manage student deposit reconciliations and process refunds.
• Post bank transfer forms on Bankline and update client systems.
• Communicate with site staff to resolve issues related to receipts, refunds, and invoicing.

Month-End Reporting:

• Prepare management accounts including prepayments, accruals, and journal entries.
• Scrutinize nominal ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct variance analysis and prepare commentary for reporting packs.
• Generate trial balances, nominal activity reports, and quarterly forecasts.
• Prepare monthly balance sheets and resolve reconciling items.
• Act as a single point of contact for internal and external stakeholders including auditors.

Must haves:

• Possess 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience as a Senior Accountant or Management Accountant, ideally within the hospitality or student accommodation sector, which would be a distinct advantage.
• Familiarity with XERO and StarRez accounting software is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to thrive in multi-site, high-volume, and transaction-intensive environments.
• Exceptional communication and client relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across teams and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in fast-paced and dynamic settings, with strong prioritization and organizational capabilities.
• Skilled in team coordination, including performance management and development support.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
•  Solid foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting, with a proactive approach to managing workloads and resolving conflicts.
• A lateral thinker who is both analytical and solution-oriented.
• Energetic, articulate, and resilient, with a commitment to excellence.
• High attention to detail combined with a change-driven mindset.
• Proficient in a range of accounting software and reporting tools, with advanced Excel skills.

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal both)
• Good with calculation of numbers
