Job Description
Senior Accounts & Finance Executive
(Healthcare 700 Bed Hospital)
Position Overview:
The Senior Accounts & Finance Executive will be responsible for managing and preparing the hospital’s financial accounts along with handling statutory and tax compliances. The role requires 6–7 years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in a healthcare environment, with strong expertise in GST, TDS, and Income Tax.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preparation of Accounts & Financial Management
- Responsible for preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounts in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliation, expense accounting, and fixed assets.
- Ensure accurate posting of transactions and maintenance of books of accounts.
- Handle month-end and year-end closing activities including finalisation of accounts.
- Prepare MIS reports, financial statements, variance analysis, and departmental financial summaries.
- Monitor cash flow, fund flow, and assist in budgeting and cost control.
2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance (Primary Area of Responsibility)
- Independently manage all tax compliance activities:
* GST – reconciliation, return filing, input tracking, e-invoicing.
* TDS/TCS – deduction, deposit, and quarterly returns.
* Income Tax – audit coordination, advance tax calculations, statutory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with EPF, ESI, PT, and other statutory norms applicable to hospitals.
- Prepare documentation for audits and attend queries from statutory, internal, and tax auditors.
- Coordinate with consultants and government authorities for tax and regulatory matters.
3. Hospital Finance Operations
- Support insurance & TPA claim accounting and billing reconciliations.
- Review doctor payout statements, vendor bills, and service contracts.
- Assist in costing, capex evaluation, and departmental expense monitoring.
- Strengthen internal controls across all financial processes.
4. Process Improvement & Team Coordination
- Streamline processes for accounts preparation, tax compliance, and internal reporting.
- Guide and supervise junior accounting staff.
- Liaise with HR, procurement, and operations teams for smooth finance operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Com/M.Com/MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
- 6–7 years of experience in Accounts & Finance, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Strong expertise in preparation of accounts, GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
- Working knowledge of Tally, ERP systems, Hospital Information System (HIS), and advanced Excel.
- Good communication, analytical, and coordination skills.
