Seed Production Executive

Farmer & Organizer Engagement

• Identify suitable seed production locations and appoint local organizers

• Build and maintain relationships with organizers and farmers

• Convince and onboard farmers for commercial seed production programs

Field Operations

• Distribute foundation seeds to farmers

• Monitor crop growth and conduct rouging and quality checks

• Provide technical guidance and training to farmers on best practices

• Ensure compliance with Seed Certification standards and GAP (Good Agricultural Practices)

Procurement & Documentation

• Oversee procurement of raw seeds from farmers

• Conduct germination testing and quality assessments

• Register seed production programs on the SATHI Portal

• Maintain detailed records and submit periodic reports

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure all documentation is complete for seed certification

• Coordinate with certification agencies and internal quality teams

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports

Qualifications

Criteria Requirement

Education A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Seed Technology, or a related field

Computing Skills Basic proficiency in MS Excel, email, and online portals

Certifications Knowledge of Seed Certification protocols (preferred)

Experience

• Minimum: 2–5 years in seed production, field coordination, or agri-extension

• Preferred: Experience with commercial seed programs, farmer training, and certification processes

Salary Range

• ₹25,000 to ₹35,000 per month depending on experience and location

• Industry average for similar roles ranges from ₹2.5 to ₹5.5 lakhs annually

• High level of integrity and commitment to quality.

• Demonstrated experience in farmer engagement, training, and field supervision.

• Strong knowledge of seed production techniques, including isolation distance, rouging, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
