Roles and Responsibilities

• SO should be the overall in-charge of security personnel on duty.
• He should understand and implement all company health and safety policies and procedures relevant to his area of responsibility. 
• He should handle the sites in the absence of a Reporting Manager.
• Carry out rounds to all the posts and ensure that the S/P are performing up to the expected level
• Go on around the facility and check for any unsafe conditions/HSE violations and report to CSO immediately 
• He should attend the visitors/vendors politely, prepare the pass and issue the same after confirming with the concerned staff and make the corresponding entry the register.
• He should ensure that the vehicles are properly parked in the parking area.
• He should regularly check the registers maintained by S/P at site.
• To take instructions from Admin/HR and pass it to the supervisors and guards and ensure that it is meticulously followed by all concerned
• Handle walkie talkie with care, attend the calls and reach the concerned immediately if required
• He should ensure that supervisors are posted at the place where heavy and continuous work is being performed by vendors to avoid any HSE violation.  
• He has to go on rounds in every one hour and log the findings in G D 
• He should ensure that all the Contractors / Subcontractors are displaying the identity card when they are entering inside the facility. 
• He should ensure that all the Contractors are having ID card if not the concerned staff should be directed to make an entry in the concerned Register or as directed by the client.
• He should ensure proper discipline of the Security personnel and ensure that they are following the post instructions.
• Ensure that all HSE violations are intervened
• He should monitor the contract, housekeeping workers.
• Apart from the above instructions, SO has to carry out the instructions given on day to day basis.
• He should have frequent intervals during his routine rounds during the absence of site patroller or on rotation 
• He should ensure discipline, no sleeping complaints, turnout, and briefing of guards post wise.
• He should ensure no arguments or man handling between guarding staff and contract workers.
• In case of any emergency he should immediately report CSO and G4S.
• Should escort the high profile visitors to the ground floor reception
• Ensure all radio sets are in good shape & in fit to communicate at all times.
• Ensure all Inventory items (provided by G4S) are handled with care and maintained. Any serviceability issue is taken care of immediately & is accountable for the same.
• Should check/ ensure all doors is always under lock & key
• Should ensure the weekly asset checks are happening & accountable 
• Should report all HSE violations immediately
• Ensure all keys are available at all times with the respective floor guards & the duplicate keys are available in a sealed pouch.
• Should frequently conduct rehearsals of evacuation drill & lift operation during emergency
