Job Title: Security Guard Location: Laxmi Eye Hospital, Panvel (From Panvel or Nearby area only) Reporting To: Hospital Administrator/Security Supervisor Job Type: Full-Time, [e.g., Rotational Shifts, Day/Night Shift]

Job Summary

The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property at the Eye Hospital premises in the Panvel area. This role requires maintaining a visible security presence, controlling access, responding to emergencies, and providing courteous assistance to all individuals within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Access Control and Monitoring:

• Monitor and control all entry and exit points (main gate, entrance doors, emergency exits) for staff, visitors, patients, and vehicles.
• Verify the identity and purpose of visitors, issuing and collecting visitor passes according to hospital protocols.
• Prevent unauthorized access to restricted and sensitive areas (e.g., operation theatre suites, pharmacy, records room).
• Screen deliveries and materials entering the hospital premises.

2. Patrolling and Surveillance:

• Conduct regular foot patrols of the hospital building, grounds, and parking areas to detect and deter security risks, suspicious activity, and unauthorized individuals.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, reporting and responding to any irregularities immediately.
• Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are securely locked outside of operating hours or as per policy.
• Check for potential safety hazards such as fire risks, spills, or blocked pathways, and report them promptly.

3. Emergency and Incident Response:

• Respond promptly and effectively to all security alarms, emergency codes (e.g., fire, medical emergency, security threat), and incidents such as theft, vandalism, or conflict.
• Assist in orderly evacuation procedures during fire drills, disasters, or other emergencies.
• Liaise and coordinate with the police, fire department, and other external emergency services when necessary.

4. Patient and Visitor Safety & Assistance:

• Maintain a calm, safe, and secure environment for patients, particularly those undergoing eye procedures who may be temporarily visually impaired or disoriented.
• Assist patients and visitors by providing directions, guidance, and enforcing visitation rules politely and firmly.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage verbally or physically agitated patients or visitors, without the use of unnecessary force.
• Provide escort services for staff, patients, or visitors to and from parking areas, especially after dark, upon request.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and detailed daily logs of patrol activities, visitor movement, and all security-related incidents or unusual occurrences.
• Prepare comprehensive and objective incident reports on all security breaches, accidents, thefts, or conflicts.
• Hand over complete information and logs to the next shift or supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

• Minimum [e.g., 10th Pass/High School Diploma] or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a Security Guard, preferably in a hospital, healthcare, or corporate environment.
• Good physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
• Strong observational and surveillance skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Basic knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and fire safety.

Preferred:

• Valid Security Guard certification/training.
• Knowledge of local language (Marathi/Hindi) and basic English.
• Experience with CCTV operation and access control systems.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary Range: ₹15,000 - ₹18,000 per month (depending on experience and interview).
