Role Overview

Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable, efficient ETL pipelines using GCP-native tools (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer)
  
• Build data ingestion frameworks and ensure high availability and data quality
  
• Work closely with analysts, data scientists, and business teams to deliver clean, usable data
  
• Optimize BigQuery queries and storage with partitioning, clustering, and cost-aware architecture
  
• Implement automation and monitoring for data workflows
  
• Collaborate in code reviews, architecture decisions, and platform evolution
  

Required Skills

• 5-10 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
  
• Hands-on experience with

  BigQuery, Python, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub

  , and

  Cloud Composer or Airflow

• Proficient in writing complex SQL queries for large datasets
  
• Experience in designing robust, fault-tolerant ETL/ELT pipelines
  
• Familiarity with CI/CD and version control (Git)
  
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with

  Dataform

  ,

  Looker

  , or

  Tableau

• Exposure to cost optimization techniques in BigQuery
  
• GCP certification (Associate Cloud Engineer or Data Engineer)
  
• Familiarity with software engineering practices (unit testing, logging, monitoring)
