Job Description

The Screw Forging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily forging operations in the screw manufacturing process. The role ensures production targets are met with the required quality, efficiency, and safety standards. The supervisor manages a team of operators, maintains forging machines, and ensures proper material flow.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Production & Process Control

  • Supervise end-to-end screw forging operations (cold forging/hot forging as applicable).
  • Allocate daily work to operators and monitor machine performance.
  • Ensure production meets planned output, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
  • Optimize process parameters to reduce rejection and improve productivity.
  • Monitor material usage and ensure minimal wastage.
  1. Machine Operation & Maintenance

  • Oversee operation of forging machines such as bolt headers, multi-station formers, and cold heading machines.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
  • Ensure proper setup, changeover, and tool settings for different screw sizes.
  1. Quality Assurance

  • Inspect forged screws for defects such as cracks, underfill, overfill, head misalignment, and shape variations.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards (ISO/TS standards if applicable).
  • Work closely with the QA team to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  1. Team Management

  • Supervise, train, and support machine operators, helpers, and line workers.
  • Maintain discipline, skill development, and performance monitoring.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure proper PPE usage.
  1. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily production reports, rejection logs, downtime records, and consumption reports.
  • Prepare shift handover reports and coordinate with other departments.
  • Support audits and documentation requirements.

Skills & Requirements

  • 5-10 years hands-on experience in screw/bolt/nut forging (cold or hot).
  • Strong knowledge of screw forging machines, dies, and tooling.
  • Understanding of metallurgy and forging material properties (MS, SS, Alloy steel).
  • Ability to analyze forging defects and troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and shift-handling skills.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and 5S is an added advantage.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.E. (Mech)

    /

    Diploma (Mech)

    preferred.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive experience

    in screw manufacturing.
