The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and identifying gemstones, providing expert analysis on their quality and authenticity. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of gemstone grading, cutting, and market trends. Key Responsibilities: Gemstone Identification : Accurately identify and classify a wide variety of gemstones, including diamonds, coloured stones- Natural/treated/Synthetic using specialized tools and techniques. Grading and Evaluation : Assess gemstones for their quality, size, colour, and cut using established grading systems, and provide reports. Inventory Management : Maintain accurate records of gemstone inventory, including descriptions, photographs, and grading reports. Education & Training : Keep up to date with industry developments, trends, and new technologies in gemmology; share knowledge with team members and customers. Quality Control : Ensure the quality of gemstones meets industry standards and company specifications. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Gemmologist in a retail, wholesale, or laboratory environment. Technical Skills : Proficient in the use of gemmological tools and equipment, including microscopes, refractometers, spectrometers, and other diagnostic instruments. Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of gemstone properties, Origin, grading systems, and current market values. Attention to Detail : Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for precise gemstone identification. Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written skills for internal Communications and Training. Computer Skills : Familiarity with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
