Job Title: School Librarian School: Schiller Institute Senior Secondary School Location: R-6, Rajnagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh Job Type: Full-time Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹30,000 per month (based on qualifications and experience) Job Summary: Schiller Institute Sr. Sec. School is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy Librarian who will manage the complete library system — both physical and digital — while maintaining high standards of book upkeep, student discipline, and digital integration. The candidate should take initiative in enriching library content, conducting seasonal library reviews , and driving literary engagement across the school. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily library functions: book issue/return, cataloguing, stock keeping, and reference support Set up and manage an E-Library with digital academic resources, e-books, and multimedia content Guide students and teachers in accessing both traditional and online reading/reference material Plan and execute reading programs, author days, book fairs, and library period activities Ensure library books are regularly dusted and well-maintained , coordinating with maids/support staff Oversee condition of physical books , arrange for repairs, and monitor student book-handling practices Implement a fine/penalty system for lost or mishandled books and overdue returns Conduct seasonal library checks to assess collection quality, identify outdated books, and recommend new additions Discard unusable/damaged/outdated material as per school policies and documentation norms Maintain and update ISO-aligned documentation for all library activities and inventory Collaborate with academic departments to enrich content aligned with curriculum needs Monitor student behavior and uphold discipline and quiet decorum in the library Assist in annual audits and participate in planning literacy initiatives across the school Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) Minimum 2–4 years of experience managing a school library Strong knowledge of library software (e.g., Koha, Libsys) Hands-on experience in creating or managing E-Libraries Familiarity with CBSE curriculum support materials Desired Skills & Attributes: Highly organized, punctual, and responsible Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Practical and proactive with a student-first approach Skilled in library planning, digital cataloguing , and resource selection Ability to work independently while following school norms and SOPs Consistent in initiating library enrichment drives and clean-up audits What We Offer: Modern, tech-enabled working environment Collaborative school culture with room for innovation Opportunities to lead and grow school-wide reading initiatives Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month Benefits: Health insurance Provident Fund Schedule: Day shift Work Location: In person
