Job Description

As a Counselor at our organization, you will provide academic, career, and personal counseling support to students, guiding them through challenges related to education, career choices, mental health, and personal development. Your role will involve supporting students in achieving academic success, emotional well-being, and personal growth. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions to address academic, personal, emotional, and social concerns of students. - Assist students in managing stress, anxiety, peer pressure, and other psychological challenges. - Offer career guidance, educational planning support, and assistance in skill development. - Help students identify their strengths, interests, and career aspirations. - Provide information on higher studies, competitive exams, and various career options. - Organize workshops and seminars on career planning, time management, and study skills. - Arrange sessions on mental health awareness, stress management, and personality development. - Support orientation programs for new students to facilitate their transition into college life. - Promote life skills, soft skills, and value-based education through various activities. - Provide immediate support in emotional crises or emergencies. - Maintain confidentiality while ensuring the well-being of students. - Refer students to external professional help (psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors) when needed. - Maintain records of counseling sessions and student progress with confidentiality. - Submit periodic reports to management on counseling activities and student concerns. - Collaborate with faculty, parents, and administration for holistic student development. Key Skills & Competencies: - Strong listening, empathy, and interpersonal skills. - Knowledge of counseling techniques and psychological principles. - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. - Good communication and presentation skills. - Problem-solving and crisis management abilities. Qualification & Experience: - Masters Degree in Psychology / Counseling / Social Work or related field. - Prior experience in academic or student counseling is preferred. - Certification in counseling/mental health support will be an added advantage.
