SAP Transport Management Functional

Role & responsibilities

• Configure and manage freight units, freight orders, and transportation requirements.
• Maintain and oversee transportation-related master data such as locations, carriers, transportation zones, and resources.
• Work closely with business teams to understand transportation needs and translate them into SAP TM configuration.
• Design and execute road transport planning strategies.
• Configure planning profiles, optimizer settings, and resources allocation.
• Optimize load consolidation and route determination for road transport.
• Plan and manage sea shipments, including container booking and scheduling.
• Integrate SAP TM with external freight forwarders or carriers.
• Ensure documentation and compliance processes are followed for sea transport.
• Implement air freight transportation planning in SAP TM.
• Configure air-specific transport rules, priority settings, and cost parameters.
• Ensure SLA and lead time adherence for air shipments.
• Monitor and manage the execution of transportation orders.
• Handle event tracking, carrier communication, and exception management.
• Ensure proper handover of shipments and proof of delivery integration.
• Configure freight agreements, rates, and charge calculation sheets.
• Perform charge settlement, freight costing, and invoice verification.
• Collaborate with finance for accurate and timely payment processing.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams including SD, MM, and EWM for seamless TM integration.
• Provide functional support, troubleshoot issues, and guide end users.
• Participate in SAP TM upgrades, testing, and documentation efforts.
  

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in SAP TM implementation and support.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end transportation processes and SAP TM architecture.
• Experience with S/4HANA TM or embedded TM is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
