Job Description

The S/4 Conversion ABAP Technical Consultant is responsible for supporting SAP S/4HANA conversion and migration projects, with a focus on custom code adaptation, remediation, optimization, and technical enablement. This role ensures that all ABAP-related objects are analyzed, adjusted, and optimized for compatibility with S/4HANA standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Perform technical analysis and adapt custom ABAP programs to meet SAP S/4HANA requirements.
Conduct custom code remediation using SAP tools (ATC, Code Inspector, Simplification Database).
Collaborate with functional teams to ensure smooth migration of custom developments.
Support system conversion activities including data model changes, CDS views, OData services, and Fiori enablement.
Optimize legacy ABAP code for performance, HANA compliance, and modern development standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during S/4 conversion projects.
Provide technical documentation and ensure knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Work with BASIS, Data Migration, and Functional Consultants to deliver end-to-end conversion activities.
Ensure compliance with SAP best practices and client IT policies.

Qualifications

bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, including experience in ECC and S/4HANA environments.
Strong expertise in ABAP Objects, Enhancements, User Exits, BADIs, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, and Forms (RICEF).
Hands-on experience with S/4HANA conversion projects (System Conversion or Greenfield).
Knowledge of HANA database concepts, CDS views, AMDP, OData services, and Fiori integration.
Experience using SAP tools for code remediation and optimization (ATC, SCI, SQL Monitor, Runtime Analysis).
Familiarity with data migration techniques (LTMC, Migration Cockpit, BAPIs, IDOCs).
SAP certification in ABAP on HANA or S/4HANA Development is an advantage.
