To support the digital journey of Sidel, a new SAP core is being implemented, and the role of SAP Platform Director will play a key role managing the key SAP platforms such SAP S4 Hana and SAP B1. The role reports directly to the Global CIO and plays an essential role as part of the IT leadership team.
Your Mission
What is expected of you
As SAP Platform Director, you are accountable for the stable, secure, and future-ready operation of Sidel s global SAP platforms, ensuring they enable business performance today while evolving toward tomorrow s digital ambitions.
Run - Ensure stable and compliant operations
- Platform Management: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the SAP landscape, including S/4HANA, ECC 6.0, BW, Central Finance, and SAP B1, across on-premise and cloud environments (SAP RISE).
- System Integrity & Performance: Ensure platform stability, availability, scalability, and security across development, test, and production systems.
- Governance & Compliance: Enforce IT and regulatory standards through structured processes for patching, backup, disaster recovery, and audit readiness.
- Vendor & Team Leadership: Manage internal SAP Basis and platform support teams, as well as external service providers and integrators.
Grow - Drive continuous improvement
- Service Evolution: Embed a continuous improvement mindset into SAP platform operations, including proactive problem management, performance tuning, and automation opportunities.
- Collaboration: Act as a strategic partner to SAP functional leads and business stakeholders, ensuring that platform capabilities align with evolving business needs.
- Cost & Value Management: Monitor and manage platform-related spend, contributing to cost transparency, optimization, and measurable business value realization.
Transform - Lead SAP evolution and innovation
- Architecture & Roadmap: Define and maintain a scalable, modular SAP platform architecture aligned with Sidel s enterprise architecture and business strategy.
- Program Leadership: Lead major technical SAP initiatives such as version upgrades, cloud migrations (e.g., RISE with SAP), integrations (e.g., PI/PO, SAP BTP), and landscape simplifications.
- Innovation & Strategy: Keep the platform ahead of the curve by monitoring technology trends and introducing innovations that improve agility, user experience, and strategic business capabilities.
Your Profile
What you bring to Sidel
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master s preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in SAP Basis/Platform roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or lead capacity.
- Hands-on experience managing S/4HANA systems and cloud-based SAP environments (e.g., SAP BTP, RISE with SAP)
- Experience of SAP ERP landscape transformations and embedding a SAP platform team within an IT operating model,
- Proficiency in system performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting in complex SAP landscapes.
- Strong understanding of SAP architecture, integration (PI/PO, BTP), and infrastructure (on-premise and cloud).
- Excellent leadership, team leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Experience working with senior leadership, and comfort operating in high-visibility environments.
- A proactive, collaborative, and outcomes-driven approach to your work.
- Relevant industry experience is appreciated.
- Fluency in English. Additional languages, in particular Italian and French, are appreciated.
Travel
Sidel is a global business, and teams are geographically spread with the Digital & Technology team primarily located in Italy, France, Poland and India. Travel should be expected at 20% of the time.
