SAP aATP Consultant

The SAP aATP Consultant leads design and implementation of Advanced Available-to-Promise capabilities in SAP S/4HANA to improve order fulfillment, allocation, and delivery reliability. The role configures and optimizes core aATP functions including Product Allocation (PAL), backorder strategies, and related SD/SCM integrations. It partners with business stakeholders in Sales, Supply Chain, and Logistics to translate fulfillment policies into scalable aATP rules. The consultant also orchestrates integrations with 3PL providers, ensures performant batch/run schedules, and oversees testing, cutover, and hypercare for releases.

Required Qualifications

• 8-12 years of SAP experience with strong, hands-on expertise in S/4HANA aATP
• Deep knowledge of aATP concepts: check control, check instructions, scope of check, and confirmation strategies
• Product Allocation (PAL) design and configuration: allocation objects, segments, sequences, time-series and maintenance processes
• Experience integrating aATP with SD Order-to-Cash and broader SCM processes
• 3PL integration experience using IDoc/EDI/API patterns and middleware (e.g., SAP PO/CPI)
• Backorder Processing (BOP) setup, prioritization, scheduling, and performance tuning
• Exposure to Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC) and Supply Protection in aATP
• Solid understanding of sales order scheduling, delivery creation, and logistics execution touchpoints
• Hands-on with S/4HANA and relevant Fiori apps for aATP monitoring and configuration
• Strong testing, UAT support, defect resolution, documentation, and cutover planning skills
• Good-to-have: Retail industry projects (promotions/seasonality), Brownfield conversion experience (from ECC/APO to S/4 aATP)

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and optimize aATP capabilities in S/4HANA, including check control, PAL, and backorder strategies
• Define PAL structures (allocation objects, segments, sequences) and processes for planning, upload, and monitoring allocation quantities
• Set up, schedule, and tune Backorder Processing (BOP) runs aligned to business priorities and service levels
• Implement or guide Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC) and Supply Protection where applicable
• Integrate aATP with SD/SCM processes and external 3PLs via IDoc/EDI/API, ensuring reliable end-to-end order fulfillment
• Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, and Logistics to translate policies into executable aATP rules and governance
• Drive functional design, test scenarios, UAT, training, and comprehensive documentation
• Plan and execute cutover activities for aATP (initial allocations, stock snapshots), and provide go-live/hypercare support
• Monitor performance and resolve production incidents related to aATP checks, PAL, BOP, and 3PL interfaces
