Roles & Responsibilities

Project & Process Management

• Lead and coordinate SAM-related projects through all stages planning, execution, monitoring, and closure within the IT Service Management framework.
• Ensure consistent adherence to SAM processes and ITIL standards, maintaining data accuracy and compliance.
• Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
  

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and business units to align SAM objectives with organizational goals.
• Manage relationships with software vendors, handling contract renewals, negotiations, and compliance activities.
  

Tool & License Management

• Oversee configuration, implementation, and optimization of SAM tools such as ServiceNow, Flexera, or Snow.
• Manage and maintain license servers (FlexLM, CodeMeter, Reprise, BetaLM, LS-DYNA, ALM, TLM, Altair).
• Perform license server setup, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to software licensing agreements and develop strategies to prevent non-compliance and audit risks.
• Conduct regular audits, ensuring 100% software license compliance.
• Generate and present analytical reports on SAM performance, compliance status, and cost optimization.
  

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve SAM processes, tools, and workflows for better efficiency and control.
• Maintain comprehensive project and process documentation, including plans, risk registers, and progress reports.
  

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle procurement, deployment, tracking, and decommissioning.
• Deep knowledge of software licensing models (per-user, per-device, subscription-based, concurrent, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with SAM tools like ServiceNow, Flexera, or Snow.
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux administration, especially in managing license servers.
• Familiarity with engineering software licensing (CAD, CAM, CAE, simulation tools).
• Strong project management and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and ITSM frameworks.
