Salesforce QA role

A Salesforce QA role for 1-3 years of experience involves creating and executing test plans for Salesforce applications, performing manual and automated testing, identifying and tracking defects, and collaborating with development teams to ensure quality releases. Key responsibilities include testing various Salesforce features, conducting regression and integration testing, and validating data integrity. 

Core responsibilities

Test planning and execution: Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.

Manual and automated testing: Perform both manual testing and automated testing using tools like Selenium,Apex Test Framework, or Salesforce's own tools.

Defect management: Identify, report, and track defects using bug tracking tools, and work with developers to ensure timely resolution.

Salesforce features: Test specific Salesforce functionalities such as workflows, validation rules, triggers, and custom code.

Integration testing: Test the integration of Salesforce with other external systems to ensure data integrity and smooth data flow.

UAT participation: Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that solutions meet business requirements.

Test data and environment management: Develop and maintain test data and test environments. 

Key skills and knowledge

Salesforce platform: Familiarity with core Salesforce features and functionalities, including customization, workflow rules, and validation rules.

Testing methodologies: Knowledge of various testing types, such as functional, regression, and integration testing.

Testing tools: Experience with bug tracking tools (like Jira) and test automation tools (such as Selenium) is often required.

Collaboration: Strong ability to collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve issues.

Problem-solving: Analytical skills to identify issues and patterns, and to help improve the overall quality assurance strategy
