The Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales, technical presentations, client engagement, and solution selling for Holmiums IoT, RMS, SCADA, and automation products.
This role combines technical knowledge + customer-facing skills to identify opportunities, propose solutions, and convert leads into successful projects.
Lead Generation & Business Development
Identify new business opportunities in:
Solar EPCs
Rooftop and Utility Solar Developers
Industrial automation clients
OEMs needing customized controllers/loggers
SCADA integrators
Build a healthy pipeline of leads and prospects.
Conduct outreach via phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, and industry networks.
B. Client Meetings & Technical Presentations
Present Holmium products such as:
Zero Export Controllers
PV-DG Sync Solutions
Solar RMS & SCADA systems
IoT Gateways & Data Loggers
Modbus Splitters / Custom Automation devices
Understand client requirements and propose suitable technical solutions.
Prepare solution presentations, proposals, and demos.
Conduct site-level discussions and technical clarifications.
C. Requirement Gathering & Solution Design
Work closely with the technical team to prepare:
BOQs and cost estimates
System architecture diagrams
Technical proposals
Ensure client requirements are fully captured and translated into solutions.
D. Sales Closure & Negotiation
Drive negotiations on pricing, scope, and terms.
Ensure timely submission of proposals, tenders, and documentation.
Work with management to finalize deals and contracts.
E. Coordination & Follow-up
Coordinate internally with:
Production team for material availability
Project team for deployment timelines
Support team for pre- and post-sales inquiries
Maintain strong follow-up until deal closure and project handover.
F. Market Research & Strategy
Understand competitor offerings and pricing strategies.
Identify industry trends in solar and IoT automation.
Provide feedback to the R&D team on market needs.
G. CRM & Reporting
Maintain lead, opportunity, and customer details in CRM/Excel.
Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
Track conversions, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts.
Good understanding of:
Solar plant components (inverters, meters, SCADA)
IoT devices, communication protocols, Modbus RTU/TCP
Zero Export / DG Sync concepts
Basic electrical systems & SLDs
Ability to explain technical products in simple terms.
Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation preferred).
14 years of experience in:
Solar EPC sales
Industrial automation sales
IoT product sales
SCADA or monitoring solutions
Freshers with strong communication and technical understanding may be considered.
