Safety Supervisor - EHS

Role & responsibilities

1. Daily Safety Monitoring

• Conduct site patrols to monitor adherence to safety rules and use of PPE.
• Identify unsafe acts or conditions and enforce immediate corrective actions.
• Ensure housekeeping, barricading, and access controls are maintained.

2. Worker Engagement & Training

• Assist in delivering daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Coach workers and subcontractors on safe work practices and hazard awareness.
• Support new worker safety inductions.

3. Permit to Work (PTW) Assistance

• Assist in verifying permits before high-risk jobs commence.
• Monitor permit compliance throughout the job duration.

4. Incident Support

• Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to Safety Officers promptly.
• Assist in preliminary incident investigations and record facts accurately.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily safety observation reports and checklists.
• Record PPE issuance and attendance at safety meetings.
• Support preparation of safety data for audits and management reviews.

6. Emergency Preparedness

• Check emergency equipment availability and ensure emergency routes are clear.
• Support participation in safety drills and emergency response activities.

7. Coordination

• Work closely with site supervisors and engineers to implement safety instructions.
• Liaise with subcontractors safety representatives for compliance.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

• ITI / Diploma in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification preferred.

Experience

• 1 - 3 years of experience in construction site safety supervision.

Knowledge

• Basic understanding of construction hazards, PPE, and safety procedures.
• Knowledge about safety nets installations, barricading etc.

Skills

• Good observation and communication skills.
• Ability to enforce safety rules firmly and fairly.
• Basic report writing and record maintenance.
