Safety Officer

Core Responsibilities (Occupational & Plant Safety)

• Policy & Compliance: Develop, implement, and enforce OHS policies, ensuring adherence to GMP, OSHA, and local regulations.
• Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments for processes, potent compounds, machinery, and hazardous materials; recommend controls.
• Training & Awareness: Deliver training on PPE, safe handling, emergency response, and promote a strong safety culture.
• Inspections & Audits: Perform routine inspections, identify hazards (chemical, ergonomic, fire), and audit safety systems.
• Incident Management: Investigate accidents/near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and drill emergency response plans, manage first aid, and coordinate with authorities.
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of inspections, training, incidents, and employee health.

Pharmaceutical-Specific Duties (Drug Safety/Pharmacovigilance)

• Drug Safety Monitoring: Collect, assess, and report adverse drug events (ADEs) and product safety signals.
• Pharmacovigilance: Author regulatory documents (PSURs, RMPs) and ensure ongoing benefit-risk assessment for marketed drugs.
• Regulatory Liaison: Communicate safety data to regulatory bodies (FDA, EMA) and stakeholders.

Key Skills & Focus Areas

• Industrial Hygiene: Monitoring exposure to potent APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) and cleaning agents.
• Ergonomics: Ensuring safe workstation design for lab and production staff.
• Data Analysis: Using data to identify trends and improve safety performance.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
