Safety Officer

The Safety Officer position based in Umbergaon requires a candidate with a Graduation in a related field and at least 5 years of experience. The primary responsibilities include designing and implementing EHS policies, management systems, plans, and training programs. This involves utilizing behavior-based Safety Standards and the latest international ISO and Safety Standards. The key focus is on maintaining safety within the organization with the goal of zero accidents and no loss due to fire. The Safety Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing fire safety systems, as well as monitoring, controlling, and deploying fire personnel round the clock. It is essential to drive preventive maintenance programs for fire and safety equipment. Additionally, the role involves designing and deploying traffic management and control measures to prevent accidents. Monitoring safety progress against goals and proactively implementing initiatives to improve safety performance are crucial aspects of the job. The Safety Officer will be expected to conduct prompt investigations of safety-related incidents, including root-cause analysis, and serve as a contact person between regulatory agencies and operations as required. Tracking and analyzing incidents to determine corrective actions that mitigate future occurrences is an important part of the role. Developing and implementing initiatives based on gathered information is also necessary. Managing a proactive Behavior-based Safety Program with a direct line responsibility to the corporate safety program is a key requirement for this position.
