About the Role

Safety Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement and monitor site safety plans, procedures and checklists.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety laws, regulations and company standards.
Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits and risk assessments; report and close non-conformities.
Investigate incidents/near misses, identify root causes and implement corrective & preventive actions.
Plan and conduct safety inductions and periodic trainings/toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
Maintain and update safety documentation work permits, registers, inspection reports, PPE records etc.
Coordinate with project/site in-charge and line managers to ensure safe work practices in all activities.
Monitor usage and condition of PPE, firefighting equipment and safety devices at site.
Prepare and submit periodic safety reports and statistics to management.

Qualifications

Education (any of the following):

ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety), or
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in
Mechanical
or
Electrical
Engineering.

Experience:

Minimum
10 years
of relevant experience as Safety Engineer / Safety Officer in industrial, manufacturing, EPC, construction or similar environment.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of OSHA/Factory Act/State safety regulations and industry best practices.
Hands-on experience in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HIRA, PTW system, LOTO etc.
Ability to conduct safety trainings and toolbox talks effectively.
Good documentation and reporting skills.
Proactive, detail-oriented and able to enforce safety norms firmly yet tactfully.
