Safety Assistant

As a Safety Assistant in Construction Contracting, your role involves supporting the implementation and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and regulations at the construction site. You will conduct routine site inspections to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance with safety standards, and monitor workers" adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Your responsibilities also include assisting in safety training sessions, incident reporting, emergency preparedness, and providing coordination and support to address safety concerns. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in implementing and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and regulations at the construction site. - Conduct routine site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. - Support the Safety Officer in monitoring workers" adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. - Assist in conducting safety training sessions and toolbox talks for workers. - Help in investigating accidents, near-misses, and unsafe incidents. - Maintain records of safety violations, inspection reports, and corrective actions. - Ensure emergency procedures are in place and communicated to all site personnel. - Work closely with the Safety Officer, Site Engineers, and project team to address safety concerns. - Ensure all safety equipment is available, maintained, and in good working condition. Qualifications Required: - Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field. - Basic knowledge of construction safety regulations and industry best practices. - Familiarity with risk assessment and hazard identification techniques. - Strong communication and observation skills. - Certification in First Aid or Fire Safety is an advantage.
