Role Overview: You will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails. Your key focus will be on optimizing code, writing tests, and learning new technologies. Additionally, you will contribute to building systems that enhance the travel experience for users. Key Responsibilities: - Take ownership of assigned features and ensure timely delivery - Optimize code to improve performance - Write comprehensive tests for features - Continuously learn and explore new technologies - Deep dive into Rails source code for problem-solving - Design database schemas with efficient use of indexes, constraints, and triggers - Utilize databases such as PostgreSQL, MYSQL, Redis, and Memcache - Write raw SQL queries and work with background job processing systems like Sidekiq and Delayed Jobs - Develop REST APIs and ensure scalability and robustness - Write automated tests using RSpec or similar frameworks - Collaborate effectively within a team environment Qualifications Required: - Strong fundamentals in Computer Science and problem-solving - Minimum 4 years of experience in developing scalable web applications - At least 2 years of experience in Ruby on Rails - Proficiency in Git and database management - Experience with database design and optimization techniques - Familiarity with in-memory databases and raw SQL queries - Exposure to background job processing systems - Understanding of REST APIs and API development - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Company Details: Thrillophilia is a platform that serves 7 million users monthly, offering tour booking, activities, staycations, and more.
