Role Description


Robot Application Engineer


You will be working hands-on with the Robotair platform, testing deployments on real robot fleets, and building demo applications in ROS to showcase our industrial and commercial use cases.


This role blends robotics software development with cloud-native testing you’ll have the opportunity to build, deploy, and operate ROS applications in ways that are setting the future standards of the robotics industry.


Responsibilities


  • Develop and test ROS 1/ROS 2 applications using Python and C++ (Python focus).
  • Create demo applications and deployment scenarios for industrial robots.
  • Work with Docker-based environments to containerize and ship ROS applications.
  • Integrate, test, and troubleshoot robot applications on fleets managed by Robotair.
  • Provide feedback on platform improvements by working closely with engineering and product teams.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and document your work for internal and external users.
  • Develop basic CI/CD pipelines to automate ROS application testing and deployment.


Qualifications


  • Solid experience developing with ROS (Robot Operating System), ideally ROS 2.
  • Strong Python programming skills for robotics applications.
  • Experience working with Docker and containerized development environments.
  • Hands-on experience with software integration, especially connecting multiple ROS nodes, packages, and external systems.
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a passion for clean code and robust systems.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment, taking ownership of tasks.
  • (Bonus) Experience working with industrial robots or AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots).
  • (Bonus) Exposure to cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, or interest in DevOps for robotics.
