About the Role
We are seeking a motivated RF Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of a Counter-Drone (C-UAS) system. The candidate will work on RF front-end design, signal acquisition, direction finding and jamming systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. RF System Design & Development
Assist in the design and implementation of RF receiver and transmitter chains (10 MHz – 6 GHz or higher).
Perform link budgeting, noise figure calculations, gain distribution, and filtering design.
Support antenna selection, matching, and array configuration for detection and jamming.
2. Counter-Drone (C-UAS) System Work
Work with SDR-based detection systems (e.g., USRP, BladeRF, HackRF, or custom hardware).
Implement RF detection techniques for drone uplink/downlink signals (2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz, GPS L1, etc.).
Support development of RF jamming modules (broadband and narrowband).
Contribute to direction-finding algorithms (AoA, RSSI-based DF, TDOA if applicable).
3. Signal Processing & Algorithms
Assist in capturing and analyzing RF signals of drones for protocol reverse engineering.
Work with engineers to implement detection pipelines:
FFT-based detection
Energy detection & thresholding
Modulation recognition
Spectral analysis & interference mapping
Support MATLAB/Python simulations for RF behavior and algorithm evaluation.
4. Hardware Integration & Testing
Support integration of RF subsystems with embedded processors, FPGAs, and SDRs.
Perform bench testing using spectrum analyzers, VNAs, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
Conduct field tests for drone detection, tracking, and jamming effectiveness.
Document all test results and create structured reports.
5. Compliance & Safety
Ensure RF systems conform to regulatory limits (ETSI/ITU/Indian regulations).
Follow best practices for EMC/EMI and RF safety during testing.
