Retail Store Cashier

A retail cashier's primary responsibility is to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. This involves tasks like scanning items, accepting payments, providing change, issuing receipts, and handling customer inquiries. They also play a role in maintaining a clean and organized checkout area and sometimes assist with other store tasks. Key Responsibilities:

• Processing Transactions: Scanning items, calculating prices, and handling payments (cash, credit, debit).
• Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering questions, providing product information, and resolving issues or complaints.
• Cash Handling: Accurately managing cash, making change, and balancing the cash drawer.
• Maintaining the Checkout Area: Ensuring the area is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Assisting with Other Tasks: May include bagging purchases, restocking shelves, and assisting with other store duties.
• Following Procedures: Adhering to store policies regarding sales, returns, coupons, and other promotional items.
• Maintaining Knowledge: Staying informed about current promotions, discounts, and store layout.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers effectively.
• Basic Math Skills: Ability to calculate prices, make change, and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, keep the checkout area organized, and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Must be able to handle a busy checkout area and work efficiently.
• Product Knowledge: Familiarity with store products and promotions.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to resolve customer complaints and issues.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Supplemental Pay:
