Job Description

Greeting and seating guests: Captains often greet guests, help them with seating arrangements, and make them feel welcome.
Taking orders and serving food: They may take orders, assist with food and beverage service, and ensure food is delivered promptly and accurately.
Handling complaints and resolving issues: They address guest concerns, resolve any problems that arise, and ensure guest satisfaction.
Maintaining guest relationships: Building rapport with guests and encouraging repeat business are also key aspects of their role.
Training new staff: They may train new employees on service procedures, menu knowledge, and restaurant policies.
Coordinating with the kitchen: They communicate guest orders and special requests to the kitchen staff and ensure timely food preparation.
Monitoring inventory and supplies: They may assist with inventory management, ensuring adequate supplies of food, beverages, and other necessities.
Reporting and communication: They report to the restaurant manager on dining room activities, guest feedback, and staff performance.
