Respiratory Therapist

Role Overview: As a Respiratory Care Practitioner at UC San Diego Health, you will be responsible for administering general Respiratory Therapy procedures, including humidity and aerosol therapy, lung inflation maneuvers, and pulmonary secretion clearance methods. Your duties will also involve initiating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining patients on continuous ventilatory support, administering pharmacological agents, and performing CPR. Additionally, you will perform invasive and noninvasive monitoring and diagnostic techniques within the ICU, ER, and floor care areas. Key Responsibilities: - Administer general Respiratory Therapy procedures such as humidity and aerosol therapy, lung inflation maneuvers, and pulmonary secretion clearance methods. - Initiate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain patients on continuous ventilatory support. - Administer pharmacological agents and perform CPR. - Perform invasive and noninvasive monitoring and diagnostic techniques in critical care areas. - Work independently within the ICU, ER, and floor care areas. - Assist with department and organization's education activities. - Adhere to Department and Medical Center's Policies and Procedures. - Adhere to UCSD Core Values and C I Care Program guidelines. Qualifications Required: - Two (2) year advance practice RT Education Program/AS Degree. - Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). - Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) issued by the state of California. - Respiratory Advanced Training (RAT) or Basic Life Support (BLS) at time of hire with commitment to get RAT within 6 months of hire date. - PALS/NRP obtained within 6 months of hire date. - Self-directed and able to work independently with limited supervision. - Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. - Possess personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment, and accountability.,
