Resident Engineer (2 5 Years of Experience)

Role Overview:
The Resident Engineer (RE)
will be responsible for the overall supervision, operation, and maintenance of the Terminal Automation System (TAS)
at the designated terminal/depot. The role ensures smooth system functionality, adherence to preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules, and compliance with OEM and client (BPCL/IOCL/HPCL) standards. The RE acts as the single point of contact for all technical support, documentation, and coordination with OEM engineers, system integrators, and the location management team. The position also involves preparing maintenance reports, managing contracts, and ensuring timely communication and reporting to the Regional Service Vendor Manager (RSVM) on all technical and commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Supervision Monitoring
- Responsible for the supervision and monitoring of Terminal Automation System (TAS) operations.
- Ensure all systems and equipment remain in optimal working condition through timely maintenance and troubleshooting.
2. Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct periodic inspection, cleaning, and servicing of filters, strainers, air eliminators, and flow meters.
- Take regular system backups and maintain proper storage protocols.
- Perform scheduled shutdown maintenance to address issues not resolvable during normal operations.
- Carry out housekeeping of hardware and software components, including servers and monitors.
- Execute preventive maintenance on field instruments and sub-systems as per OEM recommendations.
- Maintain UPS batteries and ensure uninterrupted power supply to system components.
3. Breakdown Maintenance
- Attend to system breakdowns promptly with support from OEM engineers or system integrators when required.
- Coordinate with back-office and OEM specialists for immediate fault resolution and repairs.
- Arrange site visits of service engineers for repairs beyond resident engineer s control.
4. Availability Attendance
- Be present at the terminal/depot from 08:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs for any maintenance activities.
- Obtain prior approval from the location in-charge for absences.
- For continuous absence exceeding three days, ensure an approved replacement is arranged.
5. General / Routine Activities
- Establish and document detailed procedures for preventive and shutdown maintenance.
- Prepare and update user manuals, SOPs, and revision records as required.
- Ensure adherence to maintenance procedures and timely execution of all routines.
- Conduct regular inspections, system start-ups, shutdowns, and debugging activities.
6. Documentation Record Maintenance
- Maintain system logbooks documenting maintenance activities for all components and instruments in prescribed formats.
- Keep ready reference documents, including:
- Complete list of system components with key specifications, model and serial numbers, and PID diagrams.
- Assembly drawings of metering systems with part details.
- Yearly records of spares consumed or repaired.
- Monthly history sheets of critical equipment.
- Operations and maintenance manuals for all metering components.
7. Contract Management Reporting
- Understand the site s scope of work and prepare preventive maintenance reports for billing and payment follow-ups under CAMC/AMC or variation orders.
- Track bank guarantee (BG) details and ensure timely renewals or closures.
- Report to the Regional Service Vendor Manager (RSVM) on all technical and commercial aspects.
