Research Scientist (Personal Care Products)

You are being hired for a Team Lead Research and Development (Research Scientist) position at a US Chemical manufacturing company located in Bangalore Electronic City. **Role Overview:** As a Team Lead in Research and Development, your main responsibilities will include leading and mentoring early career technology professionals in the field of product development in Beauty and Personal Care. You will be required to have a strong technical background with 13+ years of Research & Development experience, preferably holding an MS or PhD Degree in Surface Science in Material Science. Multi-National Leadership experience as a manager or project leader is preferred. Your role will involve overseeing laboratory operations, implementing safe laboratory practices, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will also be responsible for driving teams to establish roadmaps, budgeting, planning, and technology components for advanced platforms. **Key Responsibilities:** - Evaluate and down-select technical approaches - Strategically evaluate, plan, and roadmap projects - Build and develop robust technology teams - Drive advanced business/technology concepts to fruition - Oversee laboratory operations and ensure safe practices - Establish roadmaps, budgeting, planning, and technology components - Develop and manage a broad portfolio of programs - Foster partnerships, collaborations, and open innovation - Interact with customers across regions - Utilize knowledge of Beauty and Personal Care applications **Qualifications Required:** - 13+ years of Research & Development experience - MS or PhD Degree in Surface Science in Material Science - Experience in leading and mentoring early career technology professionals - Multi-National Leadership experience preferred - Strong technical competence - Proven managerial experience - Expertise in team development - Portfolio management experience - Knowledge of laboratory operations and safety regulations - Strong leadership and managerial skills - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Critical thinker with strong analytical skills - Excellent prioritization and organization skills Please note that the company prefers candidates with a Ph.D. in material science or surface science, proven leadership skills for diverse teams, experience in customer interaction across regions, and working knowledge of Beauty and Personal Care applications.
