Job Description

Design, plan, and conduct laboratory experiments, clinical studies, epidemiological investigations, and public health studies in infectious disease research.
Maintain accurate, well-organized records of all research data, protocols, and experimental procedures.
Ensure strict compliance with ethical regulations, laboratory biosafety standards and regulatory guidelines relevant to research studies.

Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting:

Perform rigorous analysis and interpretation of complex biological, clinical, epidemiological and public health datasets.
Prepare research reports, manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and presentations for scientific conferences and professional meetings.
Contribute to research grant proposals to secure funding for current and future projects.

Collaboration and Mentorship:

Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary one health teams, including animal, human and environment sectors to advance research goals.
Mentor and supervise junior staff, interns and students, supporting their skill development and daily research activities.
Participate in project meetings, journal clubs, and scientific forums to discuss research findings and stay updated with advancements in the field.

Qualification:

Essential:

Masters Degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Security or a related field within the life sciences.

Experience:

Essential:

3-5 years of relevant research experience in infectious diseases, outbreak preparedness or above mentioned Centre s key focus areas.
Proven ability to independently plan, design, and execute research projects.
Proficient in Quantitative or Qualitative data analysis using relevant software s.
